The Kingston Community Garden aims to provide space and facilities for local residents to engage in organic gardening, grow nutritious food, share and learn gardening skills, and promote the benefits of organic gardening in the local community.

Members are allocated garden beds in which they can grow their own vegetables and plants. The garden beds come filled with vegie mix soil, and can be topped up with your own compost, animal manures and other natural fertilisers. Garden members can use the tools stored in the container at the site, such as forks, spades, wheelbarrows and watering cans.

Having beds in the Community Garden brings many benefits. You can have your own seasonal supply of your favourite fresh vegetables, save money and eat healthy food.

In addition, the Garden has a number of communal beds and fruit trees that are maintained by all members. The produce from the communal beds and the fruit trees are shared between all members.

In addition to maintaining the garden beds and buildings at the Garden, we also provide aged horse manure, locally made compost, wheat / barley straw, and a range of organic fertilisers, including blood and bone and dynamic lifter.

Members of the Garden have a variety of gardening experience and expertise, and are very willing to share ideas with new members. The garden has an informal mentoring system in which new members can choose to have a more experienced gardener assist them with advice on planning their choice of vegetables, when to plant and how to manage their garden beds.

We hold regular working bees at the Garden between 11am and 3pm on the last Sunday of each month. Members, their friends and families, and visitors are very welcome to attend these working bees.

We have two grades of membership:
